Dry Barrier Cream moisture barrier
High concentration silane based sealant, specially formulated for the formation of chemical barriers in walls against increased capillary humidity.
Packaging: 0.700 kgrs. 3.5 kgrs.
Consumption: 15 gr / m2 and cm of wall thickness.
Specifications and application form
TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM is supplied ready to use and must not be mixed or diluted with other liquids.
Treatment of the support: Remove the coating from the affected area to allow better drying.
Types of walls: To inject the TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM emulsion, horizontal perforations and along the entire wall must be made, according to their type of construction.
Simple single brick wall: In the case of simple brick walls, it is possible to treat them with a single operation, as long as a drill bit with the appropriate length is available.
Double Wall with air chamber: It will be treated on one side of the wall or even both, but independently.
When dealing with a single face, the holes will cross the entire length of the wall, passing through the camera and until penetrating 40 mm, on the face of the second wall.
If the treatment is carried out independently for each side, a hole will be made in each of them.
Stone wall: If it is porous stone, the drill can be made directly on it.
Variations in the thickness of the stone walls and the possible existence of different materials between them can cause blockages in the holes, causing difficulties in injection.
In this case, holes will be made from both sides of the wall with a depth equivalent to 50% of the thickness.
Another option would be to drill adjacent to the obstructed holes to ensure that the proper volume of TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM is injected, until a continuous moisture barrier is achieved.
Perforations:
The perforations will be made at a height as close as possible to the ground, since this distance is the one at which the anti-capillary barrier will be established.
The depth of the hole will depend on the thickness of the wall, but in any case it will always be equivalent to 90-95% of the thickness of the wall
The diameter of the holes will be 12 mm.
The separation distance between the axis of the holes will be between 10 and 12 cm (maximum). This distance must guarantee a correct interconnection between contiguous injections, allowing expansion after each injection so that the entire capillary network is blocked.
After drilling work has been completed, the holes will be cleaned using an air compressor.
Application:
The product comes in the form of a viscous liquid and is packed in cartridges or barrels, in both cases it is injected by gun.
In case of supply in barrels, insert the cannula into the barrel and absorb the cream, pulling the plunger-piston back until the cylinder is full.
When the supply is in cartridges, these are inserted into the injection gun.
Insert the gun into the hole and fill the hole completely with TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM, up to 1 cm above the surface.
Important:
When treating a chamber wall, the holes in each wall will be filled. Due to the high viscosity of TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM, it is possible to treat both walls, from a single drilling operation.
Once all the holes are filled, they will be covered with the TherGlass ® Concrete Repair Fast H TX mortar.
Injection work must be carried out when the temperature does not drop below 0 ° C for at least 48 hours after application, to allow optimum material diffusion.
Cleaning
Tools and tools for working in a fresh state can be cleaned with water.
Dosages and Consumption
The dosage of TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM, depends on the thickness of the wall.
As a general rule, consumption could be estimated at approx. 15 gr / m2 and cm of wall thickness.
Serve as an example of calculation for a wall 20 cm thick and 5 m2 of treatment, would be needed (15 gr x 5 m2 x 20 cm thick = 1,500 gr)
However, the correct amount must be determined by preliminary tests.
Storage
TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM, must be protected from solar radiation and extreme temperatures. Store in a cool and dry place, avoiding frost and temperatures above 40ºC. TherGlass® DRY BARRIER CREAM, has a duration of 24 months from its date of manufacture, if stored correctly and in its original container.
Security and health
For handling, the usual preventive measures for handling chemical products must be observed, and labor protection measures must be used, such as a mask, gloves and protective glasses.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Wash your hands before a break and at the end of work.
The disposal of the product and its packaging must be carried out in accordance with current legislation and is the responsibility of the final owner.
Do not eat, drink and smoke during application.
